Apanemic - Blind Shot - MREP001 (OUT NOW - Vinyl 12'' & Digital)

Vinyl 12'' & Digital OUT @ http://melting-records.bandcamp.com With his second EP, ‘A Thousand Secrets’, Apanemic creates a mosaic of various sounds, reviving the music aesthetics in 60s-70s culture of Greece. Nostalgia clashes with fresh musical paths, elements that entwine together progressively as the EP unfolds, imitating the changing feelings of two lovers. Each track is part of a story. Each title matches the appropriate lyric from the original song sampled. Four tracks, a thousand secrets. A vicious circle as a foundation of a relationship. The project truly resembles a crate digging exercise, since it focuses on records that have spent decades being out of the radar. To achieve this, Apanemic has used samples exclusively derived from the original vinyl copies, 33 and 45 rpm., from 50s to late 70s. Αbout 48 different vinyl records were utilized for the whole project. 5. The Blue Square Ft. Gregg Green - Pie In The Sky - MR006 (OUT NOW - Vinyl 12'' & Digital)

The Blue Square Ft. Gregg Green - Pie In The Sky - MR006 (OUT NOW - Vinyl 12'' & Digital)

We are proud to present you a compilation of the best tracks of the Athens based Trip Hop duo The Blue Square. A limited amount of 300 single LPs is prepared and will arrive on 15th December. ▶ Listen & Reserve your copy here bit.ly/2fo1wbQ Conceived in Athens, Greece, The Blue Square is the duo of Radim (Vasilis Sourais) and Radical (Christos Volotas) who have come together with a love of noir atmospheres, old spy films, and dusted, jazzy beats. Since their beginnings in 2010, The Blue Square have been making waves with their explorations into instrumental hip hop, nu-jazz, and trip hop, and earned slots DJ’ing alongside Wax Tailor, ASM - A State Of Mind, Bonobo, and Gramatik. Paul Cheeba of Morcheeba is also a fan, premiering a track by The Blue Square on the widely listened to Trip Hop Nation podcast. The pair’s self-titled debut album – and their first release on vinyl – has been issued by Greek label Melting Records and delivers heaps of cinematic vibes and crucial rhythms. The Blue Square have expressed a desire to create ‘soundtracks for imaginary films’ and their album certainly fits the bill. “Believe’, the opening cut, quickly sets the tone with a heavy lounge feel wrapped in vibraphone melodies, saxophone riffs, and classic beats. “Tic Toc” mashes together a number of styles and sounds, featuring desert guitars, vintage keys, and hip hop vocal drops over some seriously dope drums. “Mama”, with vocalist Esterina, showcases the diversity of the crew, as it’s a deliciously jazzy vocal number that transports the listener to a nostalgic club scene while firmly rooted in its contemporary base. These are just a few highlights from the eleven track album, and the different moods and sounds provide an infectious ‘sonic film’ from The Blue Square’s imagination. Dive in and drift away. credits releases December 15, 2016 All tracks Recorded & arranged by The Blue Square Guitars on track 2 by Manos Paterakis on track 2 , 9 Vocals on track 3 by Gregg Green Cuts on track 3 by DJ Enthro Vocals on track 4 & 6 by Esterina Guitars on track 4 & 6 by Panos Kalkanas Contrabass on track 4 & 6 by Thodoris Ifantis Drums on track 4 & 6 by Dennis Panagiotidis Vocals on track 7 by Melentini Guitars on Track 7 Vagelis Katsabekis Vocals on track 8 by Phil Diamond Guitar on track 9 by Manos Paterakis Flute on track 10 by Hugo Kant Bass on track 10 by George Ladogiannis Guitars and Bass on track 11 by George Ladogiannis Re-Mastered by Kasablanka Mastering www.facebook.com/KasablankaMastering Front Cover by Frank Moth society6.com/frankmoth Artwork Design by Manolis Chalkiadakis backbonegraphics.com Follow The Blue Square : soundcloud.com/thebluesquare Melting Records © 2016 www.facebook.com/meltingrecs https://soundcloud.com/melting-records Contact us: meltingrecs@gmail.com

6. Renegades Of Jazz - Melted Snow (Hugo Kant Remix) - MR003 (Vinyl 12'' & Digital)

Renegades Of Jazz - Melted Snow (Hugo Kant Remix) - MR003 (Vinyl 12'' & Digital)

Vinyl 12'' & Digital : https://melting-records.bandcamp.com/album/tales-of-another-direction-lp Mastering by Frank Merritt Artwork by Kanellos COB Tales of Another Direction is a compilation of tracks gathered from our favourite beatmakers. The jazzy-cinematic theme is present throughout the whole project, each artist adding his very unique atmosphere. From the jazzy and acoustic vibe of Savages to Kognitif’s abstract beats as well as the powerful snares of Al’Tarba and the typical jazz breaks of Hugo Kant, you will recognize the influence of many genres. Dusty samples and heavy breaks are common elements on the production method used by these talented artists from the downtempo/abstract trip-hop scene. A project with a very symbolic meaning to our label.

SomehowArt - You Broke My Heart - MR004 (OUT NOW - Vinyl 12'' & Digital)

Vinyl 12'' & Digital OUT @ https://melting-records.bandcamp.com ‘Flat Reality’is SomehowArt’s first release for Melting Records and his debut solo album on vinyl. Its nine tracks provide a sharp glance into his world, filled with DJ-centric rhythms and mind-blowing tones harking back to the ’90s golden age of the Mo’Wax and Cup Of Tea labels. A couple of highlights are the melancholy “You Broke My Heart” -which features lovely guitar, piano, and horn lines in contrast to its pounding breakbeat -and “Where Is The Morning Sun”, which gives the listener the feeling of being unstuck in time with its anachronistic touches. A pair of fine guest vocalists make appearances, too: Calmdown, a Greek singer living in Berlin lays down some seriously gorgeous vocals for the languid “Another Day”, and the UK-based female rapper Lady Paradox represents her unique flow on “Thoughts For April”. In total,‘Flat Reality’ is a shining accomplishment for SomehowArt, transmitting his reflective inner vibe to nodding heads worldwide. Savages - You're My Chocolate - MR005 (OUT NOW - Vinyl 12'' & Digital)

Released for the first time on vinyl 25th of May 2016 by Melting Records. Previously released on CD back in 2008 by Chameleon Records. Order here : http://melting-records.bandcamp.com Melting Records is pleased to snag and reissue the rare album Five Finger Discount from Budapest-based producer Nándor Kürtössy, known here as Savages. Originally released in 2008 in a limited fashion and only on compact disc, the album has been sought after by hip hop and trip hop heads alike. Melting Records has now issued this classic album for the first time on vinyl and is ready to give these tracks the wide audience they deserve. Nándor Kürtössy is a prolific producer, behind many projects like Kovacs, Savages y Suefo, and Vega Ass, and is also the founder of his own Hungarian electronic music label, Mana Mana Records. Five Finger Discount was Nándor’s first release, born from the previous few years of sessions creating tracks for himself and his friends. Encouraged to collect these cuts onto an album, Savages was created and this remarkable album revealed. Its legend has grown since the initial release with some considering Five Finger Discount a classic of eastern European hip hop culture. The album track “You’re My Chocolate” has since become quite popular among the Greek downtempo DJ scene. The melancholic guitars and tranquil atmosphere of “You’re My Chocolate” are indeed special, and its languid beats lead the listener through an evocative journey told through sound. This cut is indicative of Savages’ vibe and is only one of the highlights on this jam-packed album. Cuts like “Lookin’ For You”, “Long Distances”, and “The Blow” also captivate by combining hip hop, vintage lounge, and dance floor appeal into a heady, sample-rich stew. Nándor’s sense of humor is also evident throughout as spoken snippets and spy-crafted rhythms intermingle within the playful arrangements. Savages is on point … and this Five Finger Discount is a hefty bargain. credits releases May 25, 2016 All tracks Recorded, Mixed, Produced & Re-Edited for vinyl by Savages except Track 1, Track 4, Track 11 www.facebook.com/savagesysuefo Mr. Bird - Jazz Remix (Track 3) www.facebook.com/mrbirdmusic DJ Globe - Scratches (Track 7) Re-Mastered for vinyl by Kasablanka Mastering www.facebook.com/KasablankaMastering Original artwork cover by Jakab Máté www.facebook.com/matejakab Artwork Design for vinyl by Manolis Chalkiadakis backbonegraphics.com Follow Savages : @savages Follow Mr Bird : @mrbird Melting Records © 2016 www.facebook.com/meltingrecs @melting-records Contact us: info@meltingrecords.com

SomehowArt - Where Is The Morning Sun - MR004 (OUT NOW - Vinyl 12'' & Digital)

Vinyl 12'' & Digital OUT @ http://melting-records.bandcamp.com ‘Flat Reality’ is SomehowArt’s first release for Melting Records and his debut solo album on vinyl. Apanemic - Stay Alone - MREP001 (OUT NOW - Vinyl 12'' & Digital)
